2021 Colorado Gives Day – Two Angels Foundation

The past few years has been a trying time for everyone, including the Two Angels Foundation. Last year – for the first time in our 16 year history – we canceled the majority of our events. This has had a negative impact on our fundraising efforts. As we approach 202, our mission remains to help as many children as possible. This Colorado Gives Day, we invite you to support Two Angels Foundation with a donation.

Two Angels Foundation is proud to be part of Colorado Gives Day. We support this statewide cause to increase recognition of the many amazing philanthropic organizations that help influence and fund a variety of different initiatives that benefit our local community.

This Colorado Gives Day, we invite you to support Two Angels Foundation at: https://twoangelsfoundation.org/coloradogivesday. Our mission is to increase the recreational opportunities for children with physical disabilities living in Colorado. We strive to inspire these children to live the most inclusive, active and happy lives possible.

The founders of Two Angels Foundation, Roger and Dawn Mohatt, formed the foundation in 2005 to honor the lives of their two daughters. Lifelong Colorado residents, the Mohatts had their baby girl, Allyson Marie, in 1995. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy known as Nemaline Myopathy. After a litany of tests, numerous doctors confirmed that the cause of the disease was likely not recessive and that their future children should be healthy. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

On April 8, 1999, Rachel Anne Mohatt was born and was soon diagnosed with the same devastating disease that had afflicted her older sister. Allyson passed on October 18, 2000 and Rachel passed on June 9, 2004. Both girls lived to the age of five.

During their daughter’s lives, Roger and Dawn spent countless hours taking exhaustive measures to ensure that Allyson and Rachel lived happy, comfortable and fun lives that were full of love. While hospital stays were frequent, both girls had lively, happy and funny personalities. They both loved school and playing games.

The loss of their daughters was devastating to Roger and Dawn. In the years following this experience, they have channeled their energy toward helping other children with physical disabilities live active, fun and happy lives. With this notion in mind, the Mohatts formed the Two Angels Foundation in 2005 in honor of their daughters.

To date, the Two Angels Foundation has funded 540 adaptive bikes totaling over $765,000. We invite you to support this organization this Colorado Gives Day. Your contribution helps this foundation continue its mission in support of children with physical disabilities in Colorado.
